104,3 Capital Rock Abitibi is a French Active Rock station based in Val-d’Or and works under the ownership of RNC Media. CHGO-FM’s history links back to 1939 when CKVD was established on 16 October 1939; at that time the channel was using an ERP of 100 watts and frequency of 1200 KHz. In 1042, the frequency was flipped to 1230 KHz, and then in 1943, the ERP was 250 w now. In 1946, the owner of the radio was considered to be the Radio Rouyn Abitibi Ltd. In 1956, the ownership was turned over to Radio Nord Inc. When it was the year 1966, the radio was telecasting on frequency 900 KHz with the transmitter power of 2500 watt for the nighttime and 10,000 watts for the daytime. In 1988, the station ended its affiliation and linked itself to Telemedia Network. On 7 April 1997, the yes signal was given by CRTC to launch a channel at Val-d’Or, and it was intended to replace the CKVD, CHAD and CKRN Rouyn-Noranda are telecasting from Amos.

At the end of 1999, the radio came into being whereas the transmitter that was mentioned before would replace by CHGO-FM-2 102.1, CHGO-FM-1 95.7 and CHGO 104.3. In March 2009, the format of the radio was now Alternative rock which was previously known as classic. CHGO-FM-1, which is the repeater of Rouyn-Noranda has been transferred to CJGO’s way since 2010 and is no longer linked with CHGO-FM 104.3. In 2017, the ERP of the station was now increased up to 75000 w.
